Scott Burns co-founded GovDelivery and is the company’s CEO.   GovDelivery is the leading public sector digital communications solution.  GovDelivery’s Digital Communication Management solution is used by over 550 public sector organizations in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe to support effectiveness in reaching more people, efficiency in streamlining communication, and engagement in generating online and offline results for agencies and citizens.  Every day, more than 30,000 people sign up for digital updates from the government through GovDelivery.  Governments use GovDelivery to send more than 1 billion messages every quarter to the public.  GovLoop, a division of GovDelivery, is the premier online knowledge network for public sector employees with a vibrant community of over 60,000 people.

In 2008, Scott was one of 25 people in the private sector to be named to Federal Computer Week‘s Federal 100, a list that recognizes individuals who significantly influence how federal government uses information technology.  In 2011, Twin Cities Business Magazine named Scott one of “200 Minnesotans You Should Know,” while GovDelivery received the Inner City 100 Award as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in the inner city from the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City.

Scott serves on the boards of the St. Paul Public Schools Foundation, the Friends of the St. Paul Libraries, the Executive Committee of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce and loyalty marketing firm, Tecmark.   He is also the chair of the St. Paul Community Advisory Committee for the Knight Foundation.  Scott started his career as a consultant for McKinsey & Company.  He received a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in economics and environmental studies where he skied for Dartmouth’s NCAA Division I alpine ski team.
