Cooper Smith, Business Insider Intelligence, to Talk about Amazon Dragon Boat at PostalVision/2020 “B2Me” Event

February 19, 2016 (Arlington, Va.)  –  Following on the heels of last week’s media storm around intelligence from Bloomberg that Amazon is building a shipping and logistics arm that could rock the shipping industry, PostalVision 2020’s upcoming event will feature a data-driven presentation by Cooper Smith, Senior Research Analyst for Business Insider Intelligence (BII), “The Everything Shipper:  Amazon and the New Age of Delivery.”

According to Bloomberg, Amazon’s project, internally called “Dragon Boat,” would launch a new global supply chain business by Amazon as early as this year, and would compete directly with businesses such as FedEx and UPS.  In keeping with its long history of closely tracking developments in the shipping, logistics, and postal ecosystem, PostalVision 2020’s upcoming event will feature discussions and responses from members of the global supply chain, who will be gathered for the event on March 15-16, 2016 at The Ritz Carlton Pentagon City (just outside Washington DC).

Cooper’s upcoming presentation at PostalVision 2020/6.0 will focus on what Amazon is doing in this new age of retail and delivery, and how it will disrupt legacy shippers.  Cooper also will touch on other vertical activity in this space, including moves by giant retailers such as Walmart and Alibaba.  It’s an exciting time to be in the shipping industry, and PostalVision’s March event will feature the latest news and industry expertise around these recent developments, as well as other critical topics to the global postal/logistics ecosystem.

“We’re particularly pleased to have Cooper coming back to present at our event again this year, not only because of his recognized industry expertise and insight, but also because of our recently forged media partnership with Business Insider Intelligence,” said John Callan, managing director of Ursa Major Associates and Founder of the PostalVision 2020 Initiative. “Business Insider is a leader in providing eCommerce industry news and analysis,” said Callan, “and BII is its premium research service, trusted by thousands in this industry to provide critical insight and research.”
